Been meaning to write and tell you how much we enjoyed the CMT Christmas Show. By reading the comments in your guest book I see many many folks liked it as well. I hope everyone will forward their comments on to CMT then maybe CMT will see there is much interest in the Western/Cowboy Movement be it music or cowboy poetry. Thanks for helping to reopen the door for us. Keep up the great work....we really appreciate you.

I, too, discovered your radio shows on the CMT special.  I looked on your site for a link to listen, but I couldn't find one.  Please list the stations which carry your programming.  Keep up the good work!
Alexandria, Virginia,

Hi! I loved the piece on CMT. I watched it every time it came on. Who are
some good poets for me to listen to that you know of if I can find them back here in Tennessee. I just wanted to say that I loved your show and the poets. Thanks, Randy Davis

Hi Jo,

We need you in Philadelphia Jo !!
Saw you on CMT-- GRRRRRRRRRRRRREAT show - loved your poets!!

Howdy,  I learned about your radio show from the CMT Christmas special.  I'm happy to see a locally-owned, independent radio program spotlighted like it was.  It was truly inspiring.
From the TV program, I understand that you play music and poetry by amateur performers.  I write country songs.  I'm trying to find a way to sell my songs without actually picking up and moving to big-city Nashville.  I live in the Lake of the Ozarks area of Missouri and don't want to move to the city if I can help it. I'd be honored if you would play one of my songs.  Is it possible for me to send you a CD to have aired on your program?  I would be happy just to know that some of my music is being heard by people who appreciate country music and values. Thank you for any help or information you can give me.
Don Williams

I just learned about your station from the CMT Cowboy Country Special. I listen to WCTQ 92 FM in Venice, FL and I don't think they play your station. I'm going to try to get you on my computer. I really enjoy watching the special about you. My boyfriend enjoyed it a lot. He is one of the few cowboy left around here. He's 48 and been working cattle all his life and LOVES it. We have a very small herd here but they are trying to run us out. The builders are are taking over. The county wants to make this a retirement area. And they are doing it. Well I just wanted you to know that I enjoyed the show and will try to get you on the computer. Thank You,  MERRY CHRISTMAS AND HAPPY NEW YEAR

Howdy Jo,
We can't begin to tell you how excited we are about the program on CMT. The "Christmas In Cowboy Country" program was GREAT. We figured they saved the best for last. (It's to bad that they couldn't have put the entire radio show on). I want to thank you for giving us the opportunity to be a part of this program. This is just another example of the dedication that you have for Cowboy Music and Poetry. We have truly enjoyed being on your show in the past and look forward to being a part of it's future.
Your web site looks great. Keep it up!!!
Your Pals, Tim & Monica Graham
Words can't express what yours and Cliff's friendship means to Monica and I. To us you are part of the family.

Hi! Saw the segment on the nation news magazine show TV featuring KJON. What a treat to know you exist! I would love to be able to tune via the Internet is that possible?  I would even be willing to pay a subscription fee to do so. There ain't much real country out here in Tinseltown! (Los Angeles) Merry Christmas
Dale Franklin

We thoroughly enjoyed the "Christmas In Cowboy Country" show on tv and would sure love to hear more of your radio station here in GA.  Do any stations in GA carry your programs?  Sure would love to hear the special Christmas programs with folks from your area participating with songs, poems and stories.  Someday we hope to come visit your area!

Miss Jo,
Merry Christmas(a mite late) from Lugoff, SC!
Just watching you and your station featured on CMT Cowboy Country Christmas, I had to look right away to see if I could listen via the internet. I didn't see a link for this, do plan for it in the future?
Thanks very much,

saw your show on cmt...........its great..........i live in orlando fla      how can i listen to your station on the net ?  do you have a link that will let me listen

Just saw CMT's Christmas in Cowboy Country...and was really glad to catch the segment featuring you & the Christmas program in Anadarko. Fortunately, my sister in Jacksonville, FL called just before it came on or I wouldn't have seen it (she always watches out for me). I hope this will bring you increased success & well deserved attention to what you're doing for the cowboy life, music & poetry. Maybe next year, I could join some of your guests. Have a great year!
 Norm Rourke

Hi Jo,
We got to see this the first night it was on. It was a wonderful show. Of course the last 15 minutes was the best part. We were truly inspired by what you said and the way that came together with the poetry and music. They could not have chosen a better person to represent and explain who and what the cowboy poet is all about. You as well as those that were on the show made us proud!
Happy Holidays,
Brian & Sherry

Thanks Jo for the kind words and radio play. The Western Ballad Opera Trilogy box set has really taken on a life of it's own. We are honored to have you included in the Opera family so to speak as this thing evolves. It was wonderful meeting you in Fort Worth and I am honored to call you friend. Take care and God Bless.

Jo, I was so excited to see you all on CMT!!!  I think that it is so great what you are doing and the recognition that it has brought you.  I am right proud!!  I have had the best of intentions to call you and now I am out of excuses----I retired from the school so now my time is free!  So after the first of the year I will call in to you.  Once again….what would be the best time to call and what do I need to have prepared, etc. etc. Have a great Christmas!

Howdy Jo,
Long time since our trails have crossed, or so it seems.  I was watching the video of the AWA awards again and was reminded of the joy of that evening and how deserving I felt you were of the award you received for your efforts to spread the Western gospel.  Hope to see you again real soon (in person) and will sure keep an eye for the CMT presentation to get me in the holiday spirit and connect to friends.  Hope your holidays are joy filled, my friend and keep up your wonderful work.  Thanks for all of your support.

We are a ranch family and would love to have the opportunity to hear your show.  We saw it featured on CMT.
Sherry McNeely

I'll be appearing with Michael Martin Murphy as he does the Cowboy Christmas Show in SS, TX.  If you haven't had the opportunity to see this show, it's a great cowboy family Christmas show.  Hope to see you there. Tuesday, Dec. 16, 2003, 7:30 PM, Civic Center Sulphur Springs, TX  Tickets 903/ 885-8071

Congratulations, Jo, and thanks for telling me about the show! By the way, Echoes of the Trail has a trophy saddle to be raffled off in June. If anyone wishes to buy a chance on the saddle, just send $5 to Echoes of the Trail, c/o Judy Howser, 2280 Hackberry Rd., Fort Scott, KS. 66701. Need not be present to win, and we will ship the saddle to the winner.
Thanks for all you do for Echoes of the Trail and for preserving the history of the American cowboy. Judy Howser

I read this article on the web: http://www.newsok.com/cgi-bin/show_article?ID=996840&pic=none&TP=getarticle
I really liked what I read. I live in the suburbs of New York City and there isn't  country station to be found, but unfortunately lots of Hillary. (Sounds like a living #### doesn't it?) If you ever decide to stream your broadcast on the web, please let me know. Your station sounds like it would be a bright light in my life. Well, I go back to listening to my CDs now.
Thank You,

While driving through Oklahoma the weekend of either 2/15-16 or 2/22-23, my husband and I first discovered your wonderful radio program.  I would like to describe two poems we particularly enjoyed and have searched for without success. One had a beautiful phrase, "Thank you God, for another day in the saddle." The other was a story of a young man in a pen with a calf, who sees and aspires to become a wrangler, trail boss, and so on up the ladder of hierarchy all the way to the ranch owner, who meditates on what it would be like to be just a boy in a pen with a calf. I don't know if this is enough to help you recognize either poem, but if so, we would really appreciate having their titles.  I've signed on for your newsletter and am thrilled to have discovered your website.  I have always loved poetry, particularly 16th, 17th, and 18th-century -- as well as Rupert Brooke, Edna St. Vincent Millay, and many others.  Hearing your program has opened an entire new venue and one which I am thoroughly enjoying exploring.  Thank you. S. P. Monroe, Fort Worth, Texas

Heard about you guys on the net...wish that you broadcast on the net so that I could hear your show. Keep up the good job of making sure that real country music stays alive in Oklahoma.  It's the best...and what passes for mainstream country radio today is a crime.  If it weren't for the internet, most people wouldn't be able to hear the genuine country sound any more. My favorites generally come from the decade of the sixties and I find myself depending on my personal collection and what I can borrow from friends to copy.  Thank goodness too that some labels are finally reissuing some of the old stuff.Good luck to you and the station.Keepin' it country, Sam Sattler

Ms. Hargrave-
Greetings from Phoenix, Arizona.  My wife and I were watching a special on CMT the other night and they featured you and your Radio station regarding your annual Christmas Cowboy Poetry contest. Needless to say we were awed and glued to the television thru the whole segment.  The poetry bits that we heard were simply a blessing.  To be so gifted to write such beautiful poetry and to be blessed (us) enough to catch it on TV.  There is not much Cowboy Poetry out here that we have seen although we really haven't looked. My point of this email is to tell you that this poetry that I heard moved me.  I think that these very talented people have been blessed by the good Lord above to move people to appreciate the beauty and simple life of the Cowboy way.  The poetry that I heard is still resonating in my mind, I have always wanted to live on a farm and live a Cowboy life and someday I will. There was a gentleman on your radio show and I do not know what his name is or the name of the poem that he recited on the air at the time we saw the special.  All I know is that one part of his poem talked about "pearly gates".  I know that I am not giving you much to work with, but the poem is haunting my mind and I need to know what it is called and if you know where I could get a complete copy of the poem?  I'm sure that we will never meet, but I want you to know that I believe that we were destined to watch this special and I wish more TV and newspapers would spend more time focusing on what people are doing like yourselves to help others, because that is really what its all about isn't it.  Helping others.  Your work and the work of the artists helped me and moved me.  Thank you for introducing us to Cowboy Poetry and the work that you are doing to preserve this treasure.
I look forward to hearing from you.  God Bless.

I've watched the show and it is great - it's a darned shame it didn't include more of your people.  When is your call-in show or has it already happened; I'd like to participate if possible. You did a good job on the show, my compliments

Hi, Jo
I just wanted to say congratulations on your accomplishments, and to again thank you for your help. It was good meeting you in Ft. Worth, and it is good to see you doing well.  Best wishes for a good Christmas season,

I'm not one to send e mails or contact people very often BUT ...I just found out that they sold KJON!    I've missed it being on the air for a few days thinking maybe there was technical problems so I called Central Appliance to find out why and they told me the station had sold and they only had a one day notice....that's not good news for your listeners.  I've listened to the station since it was KRPT.  Well, I just wanted to tell you that I've really enjoyed your program, interviews, poetry, and music for the past few years...the entire format for the station was great whether it was bluegrass, western swing, old radio shows, or cowboy,  it was the stuff you don't get to hear anywhere else, and it's a true loss for those of us who were regular listeners.  If you're planning to continue your show, please let us know where and when it will be carried so we can tune in.  Right now, radio just won't be the same.
Thanks for all of the work you've done and for playing those fine old cowboy and western songs.  A grateful listener in Wichita Falls, Texas.
                                                David Holcomb

Would love to hear you on a Missouri station. We are 21 miles east of Rolla. Been here year and a half from Texas. Looking for a Cowboy Church in these parts and none to be found . IF you hear of any, please let me know.

Sure do wish you folks broadcasted on the internet. Nothing in the world like classic country

Jo, I am active duty in the US Navy and currently stationed in Millington, TN. After seeing your special on CMT I went and looked up your station online. I was interested to see if I could tap into it online and listen on my computer while I work. Do you know if this is possible? Thanks, DJ Johnson

Do any stations in the Lubbock area offer your show?  If not we would surely like for them to.

Howdy Jo,
I saw the Christmas special three times. I wish I lived a little further west. I'd really like to live a little more cowboy then TN. And yes Miss Ginny did steal the show, she's a real sweetheart. I've written a bunch of swing songs which I hope to record soon and I hope it turns out better then the last CD.  I hope you and yours have a wonderful holiday season.

Hi Jo,  I was very pleased this morning to find in the Lawton Constitution a nice story about my one of my favorite people.   I was somewhat disturbed to read farther down in the article that the owners of the Anadarko station had chosen to move the station away and leave you high and dry.   I hope that you do syndicate your program and that you will have an even larger coverage area than before.  There are not nearly enough stations that carry programs like Keepin' It Cowboy.   You do a great job with the program and are an asset to every gathering of people where you ply your trade.  If I can be of help to you, let me know and I will try.   I don't know many doors that I could open, and may not be in much condition to be of any help for a while, but I want you to know how much I admire what you do for the cowboy way of life.   Just remember when you seem to have a door closed in what you are doing, it just means that there is an even larger door that will open for you.   Believe that you have the ability to use this new opportunity.   LeRoy Jones

Jo, Americana Entertainment and "This Week In AMERICANA" would like to congratulate you for your recent award of excellence!! We would like to thank you and KJON for keeping the true music out on the airwaves!

Thank you for your show.  I've got so many cowboy stories about my grandfather, dad,   brothers and myself that, if I don't write about them soon, I'll just bust.  Your show has really inspired me and helped keep the love of the outdoors, and working with cattle and horses (cowboyin') alive in my soul.  Thanks for what you do!!
